Guest NoBackUp Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Hi All Here I am sitting in Dubai (26 degrees)…looking at all that’s bright and nice …(Toys for Boys) have a P800 which is slow and just SUCKS up battery power…nearly bought a MDA 64MB but miss a real Keypad for Dialing…used too have a T68i (Looooooooong Battery life) and used it in combination with a Palm Tungsten T (via blue tooth) for all my mobile computing needs (extended Calendar/Tasking/Dialer and ebook reader). I am nearly there with the SPV as my next box of tricks…BUT…how is the Battery life really (post and pre UPDATE) Cheers
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Post updated you can easily get between 2-3 days Pre-update you are lucky to gat a day :) All this is posted in the topics below have a look at everyone's comments.
Guest yatpeak Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 Actually, I disagree with that, I find that my one will last at least two days without the update and without turning the phone off. Wyatt
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 However the majority of UK users are experiencing less than 24hrs battery life.
Guest Pidder Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 My battery lasts about 24-48 hours (depending on how often i use it to play games) [swiss spv; first swiss update done]
Guest yatpeak Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 However the majority of UK users are experiencing less than 24hrs battery life. Sorry, I was just commenting on my SPV, didn't occur to me that most had a lower battery life. Wyatt
Guest NoBackUp Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 So all you SPV'ers with 24Hours + how much talk time do u average a day, I talk about 2.5 hours a day... ?
Guest TooMuch2AM Posted February 7, 2003 Report Posted February 7, 2003 I'm not a big talk time user during the day, and a moderate user at evenings / weekends. I use the phone mostly for texting and msn messenger. I've just received my 2nd SPV from Orange and so far it seems that the battery life on the new unit is better than the first one. The software is the same version numbers etc, but so far (touch wood) no crashes, no sudden power drains and longer battery life. I was lucky to reach Sunday morning after a full charge at work on Friday with the old unit. The real acid test is this weekend; the first with this new phone...
Guest yatpeak Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 That's a good point, I hardly use mine as a phone, I woudlnt talk on it for more than ten minutes a day. Wyatt
