battery draining super fast

Hey Guys I was messing around with my Build.prop and installed one from DJ Steve. The phone was working great but I was getting terrible battery life - from full charge in the morning to empty by noon with little to no usage. I checked the battery stats and the cell standby, and android system were using most of the battery. Can someone point me to a better build.prop or maybe suggest something I can do to correct the problem? I guess I could re-flash the streak but I'd rather not do that if I don't have to. Oh I'm running the 2.1 8105 build.

Thanks!

I have mine at full charge and typically by noon I'm at 15% with light use. Wifi is always on which is the biggest draw on battery, but I need it on. The only thing I can do is put it in airplane mode when I'm not on it for a while.

Have you added the speedd boost and battery boost by fards as well?

http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-str...-boost-as-well/

I have both Steven Hyde's build.prop mod and fards battery boost [sysctl.conf] running on my m2 ROM

Before I went to bed last night I had 73% on my battery when I got up this morning I had 70%, I did disable WiFi, Data, GPS and put it in Airplane Mode

I agree with jnovello it does help if you put the device in Airplane mode when you are not using it for long periods and make sure that you have no unwanted serrvices running

yeah, check out the speedboost stuff. After I did that my battery life pretty much tripled :)

Also check out this airplane mode "trick". Certainly helped my battery life a lot, but as others said, Ive resorted to putting mine in airplane mode when not using it.

I use Tasker to automatically switch it on overnight

THanks for all the tips. I already had the sysctl.conf settings applied, and noticed the increased drain when I applied Stephen's Build.prop. I will try the airplane mode "trick" and see if it helps.

I believe it's the hardware graphics acceleration that is doing it (sf.hw=1). I enabled this on my Streak and while it makes it a lot snappier battery life decreased notably.

The "trick" worked for me when my battery was draining too fast you have nothing to lose by trying it :)

There were some comments on the android market about this so i thought after installing i would test it and it seemed to be fine, left it for about an hour with GPS, data and wifi running and it seemed fine - maybe because i was on the wifi it didnt drain 0_o i dont know. Maybe i'll try that tonight
