Guest ultraa Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) I have just downloaded the multitouch test program on my Orange San Fran, it seems it has the same multitouch issue as the HTC Desire. Can anyone please confirm? Thanks. Edited October 5, 2010 by ultraa
Guest Trappedin80's Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 I haven't noticed a multitouch problem on my SF. What is supposed to be the issue?
Guest ultraa Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 this is the well documented problem:
Guest David Horvath Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 this is the well documented problem: I just wanted to upload a vid, but i see that this is well known. Is this causing problems with playing games for example with two fingers?

Guest amoebauk Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 I did notice on angry birds it was a bit difficult to zoom in and out - maybe this is why?

Can you make a vid with the same application runnning on San Fransisco? What does the "Multi" means in "multitouch". In case of Desire it is 2, in case of Ipod touch it is 5.

In case of Desire it is 2, in case of Ipod touch it is 5. Why? The application does exactly the same on the San Francisco and if you install the application yourself you would see this. Actually the digitizer on the San Francisco supports dual touch and not multi touch. Multi touch allows you to use 3 or more fingers.

But lets put it this way: is the multitouch handling as good as on Nexus or Desire or it is worse? Edited October 6, 2010 by pbando
Guest pbando Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) Here it is: Koszi, so same as Desire. Edited October 6, 2010 by pbando
Guest spoonium Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 So, is this a limitation of the software or the hardware?

Guest BenSeiDank Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Hardware So is it a problem to play games, which need multitouch? (like Psx4Droid or Heavygunner) I think there are not many games or no game or application, which use the input of 3 fingers. Is that right?

You can play those games, to problem lies elsewhere: if you near your fingers in one axis the touchscreen controller can't separate the coordinates of this axis anymore. So if you put your fingers close together on one axis the will have the same value for this axis. So if you have three buttons, one on the left on two on the right side you won't really be able to access both buttons on the right side. Best regards, BB
