Guest neologan Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 getting £1.50 debit card surcharge, like if you made a payment abroad whenever i buy and app on the market. Is this normal, and why is there NO warnings about this before you buy?
Guest Cobble Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 It's probably your bank charging you extra, not the market. It's almost certainly mentioned somewhere in your debit cards T&C's.
Guest neologan Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) it is my bank, as i said, its the same thing that happens when you buy something abroad -- a £1.50 surcharge. Anyone else in the UK getting this happen to them when they buy an app that's prices in dollars? This is not what i expected... that's the last time i buy an app that's not listed in pounds ont he market again. How dare Google not warn me that i would be looking at a card surcharge. I bought a 99c app which should be 67p and the dev got that, and i have been charged over £2 in total. I'd rather give it to the dev than my damn bank. And this is googles fault, even ATMS warn you of surcharges, it's not that hard, google. Edited October 5, 2010 by neologan
Guest Cobble Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Did you expect your bank to forgo foreign exchange charges for just the market :)
Guest neologan Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 now i know that's how it works, nope. My point is, how was i meant to know it was handling the charges this way? I got no warning.
