Yea you can install this on a a1/s100 you can also install the latest Froyo roms aswell

I am not able to install it with the official tool (downloaded from the link above).

Maybe I need the BIN image of this rom?

You can get the bin from the folder the official installer installs to but it deletes itself when it's not running other than that to get the official installer working you need to have a 2.1 rom from emea

No worries we all did our first flash after either lots of questions or reading or both lol I just answered questions like many people on this forum would :) happy flashing
