Volume increase button is broken

Having just received my SF a few days ago and rooting it + putting on the custom ROM. I woke up this morning and noticed that the volume control/ringer volume was constantly increasing, now even when I restart the phone automatically starts as Power+Volume UP and if you have rooted your phone you know what this does.

Is this a known problem or am I just unlucky?

Did you ever resolve this? I had the same problem with my SF. I think it only happens when the battery is low? Anyone else seen this?
