Sound/Voice Recorder...Force close

Just a heads up, I have been having the same issue as others with the 'Sound Recorder' where the app encountered errors and was force closed. However this was happening after any recordings had been made and so just assumed the recordings were abandoned during the force closure...So today i notice that in the Stock Music Player under 'Playlists' there was a tab called 'My Recordings' and the previous test recordings i had made & thought hadnt been saved were in there.

Has anyone had confirmation if the force closure is a fault of all SF or random batch handsets.

Sorry if this has already been posted but curious to know if the issue is android specific or Orange. And does Paul's custom Rom fix/replace the app

I've tried three handsets, each purchased at different times. And each crashed when the Sound Recorder app's MENU button was activated. The recorder does record however but I wish it would let me set a higher bit-rate.
