Using @softbank.ne.jp email on HTC Desire

I got the HTC desire, but they ladies at Softbank said I know can't use my softbank email. So whenever I want to check my Softbank email, I have to put my sim into my old phone. I read that Softbank was going to release an app for the Desire in mid sept, but it's not on the market.... I saw all the moded roms, and the Mms.pak But I don't think I need any of that stuff since I have mms, and my phone is rooted and the phone is ok the way it is.

Can I access my SB email on the desire?
