Guest jt! Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Hey all, Been palying around with my new SF, tried the new skype app and it refuses to use the internal speaker, only speakerphone, jsut wondering if this is just my phone or if others have experienced this. I have pressed the speakerphone/internal speaker button numerous times (bottom left) and it jsut always comes out the loud speaker. Normal phone calls work fine and also it will output to the handsfree headphones. odd. Hoping its just a bug on skypes part. also sad i cant find angry birds in the android market. JT.
Guest clivec Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Nope, mines the same, speaker only.
Guest Horváth Dávid Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 I've opened a thread: http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=727773
Guest jt! Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Just added a comment to your skype thread. Hopefully if enough people moan they will fix it.
Guest G0DSPEED Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Alternative is to use the Skype for 3 app instead
Guest oh!dougal Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Alternative is to use the Skype for 3 app instead Is that generally usable, or strictly limited to use on 3 ?
Guest G0DSPEED Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Is that generally usable, or strictly limited to use on 3 ? Sorry wasn't thinking, I'm on 3 so was the obvious choice. It will no doubt be preset for 3 settings which i'm sure will not be changable.
Guest Mangemongen Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Gosh, that's too bad. This is almost a dealbreaker for me. I'm currently deciding on whether to buy one.

Guest flash2004 Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) Yup , I am facing the same issue here. Leaving a comment on the forum.... Also it doesn't use SF's proximity sensor, so your ear will trigger all kinds of activities on the touchscreen... Hope the future versions fix these basic things. Edited October 7, 2010 by flash2004
Guest G0DSPEED Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 any idea if those can be changed or tweaked ? No nothing can be changed from the 'skype for 3' settings menus :) maybe someone who can delve deeper into the code or config files of applications might be able to adapt it?

Guest jt! Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 Cheers for the angry birds link... seems massively laggy at times on my stock SF. sad times. Anywho, noticed a thread on the Skype Community board stating it wasnt the place to get skype to pay any attention (http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showannouncement=361&f=303) So did what that chief said, had a reply from skype asking for further details on android version etc. Hopefully something useful will come of it, will keep you posted on the reply i get.
Guest David Horvath Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 I picked every file from skype on the SF, and i found no setting regarding the speaker.. I'm afraid we have to wait for an official update.

Guest Magnets Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 I read somewhere where a guy to fix it by setting the phone by forcing the sound through earspeaker. It was something with the service code that you enter .... maybe someone knows ... this? http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizo...ng-to-earpiece/ ok, I'm answering my own questions.... I found the solution, and no need for any software! Just dial *#0002*28346#, you'll enter the engineering mode. Choose in menu to SetForce audio path to "Voice Receiver", thereafter all speaker sounds goes to the earpiece. When you're done, go back to the menu and release the force audio mode and all sounds go back to speakers. Working wonderfully for Skype! No longer a need for me to put on the headphone whenever I Skype with the i8000! I can just talk like in a normal phone call!
Guest mau34 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 I downloaded it from a post on xda-developers (need to register to download attachments) Post #31 of THIS thread. getting fc for some reason... m on flb r7, any idea why? thanks
Guest Inopia Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 I downloaded the Skype app from Marketplace, decompiled it, found the bug, and patched it using smali/baksmali. It seems to work now. More info on the problem can be found here. the solution was to add a single line: _manager.setMode(AudioManager.MODE_IN_CALL); Please keep in mind that this is a quick hack and is completely untested. I'm not sure about how legal it is to offer up a patched version of Skype, so I'll just notify Skype of the problem and the solution.
Guest FelixL Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Thank's, this will help a lot, I will try this with an app I want to use and if it works will mail the developer. I bet it will work :P
Guest Inopia Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 Ok, so I uploaded the patched version here. Have fun.
Guest stajne Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Ok, so I uploaded the patched version here. Have fun. Is there any way to apply this solution to Nimbuzz?
