Guest dj9928 Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 I have a 3G iPhone and 4G iPod Touch, I wanna get rid of both and use this but worried I might regret it, I did have a play with a Desire and didn't like it, well not that I didn't like it, it was an excellent phone but it just felt somewhat unpolished compared to i devices
Guest GraviticVortex Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 (edited) If you didnt like Desire, then Android is proSPAMly not for you. I have had exact opposite reaction. Been playing around with several iOS devices and while they were nice i never had a feeling like it was something for me. First time i got my hands on Desire thouugh, after 5 minutes i wanted to smash my current phone against the wall :) But as i said With Desire you get quite polished Android experience, if you didnt like it then it very likely that SF will dissapoint you even more. Guest dj9928 Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 agree to what he said. The thing that did impress me with the desire was how speedy it was, but I guess this doesn't even have that? I just want away from Apple as while they have good products I find them way over priced for what your getting really, what I ment by unpolished was the apps, not the user interface as such, and while you may get Angry Birds on iPhone you'll get say Frustrated Pelicans on Android which is essentially the same thing but made by a kid in his bedroom and not as polished.

"doesn't even have that" £99 PHONE IN SLOWER THAN £400 PHONE SHOCKER. Not to mention, we have Angry Birds on Android. Any way, I like the fact we can get those little apps made my a kid in their bedroom, it breeds developers :)
Guest mark watson Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 I've and a 3GS and now an iPhone 4. I really like the San Fran. Mainly because you can do what you want with it and it doesn't have to be the same boring screen layout to look at. Only problem is the photo gallery. Its so slow its unusable! I'm hoping a new rom will fix this? I can't see that much difference in the screen quality between the SF and iP4 despite the retina display. Colours are maybe a bit saturated with the SF. Battery is much better with the iPhone which is quite disappointing. what are the chancde of a high cap battery for the san fran? I must say though my sim is spending more time in the SF than the iPhone !
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted October 9, 2010 Report Posted October 9, 2010 I had a 3GS, I work for a large Mobile phone company and got my iPhone because I needed it to do development for App's (I also dev Android Apps too), now we have test iPhone's so my personal phone can be anything. We normally get a free phone each year - and it's usually a top handset (desire etc), but instead of putting up with an iPhone for the rest of the year I got myself a PAYG San Francisco. We have had a test one in at work for 3 months now and I had promised myself one once I had tried the 2.1 version. My Reasons for dumping the iPhone (even after jailbreaking it) Useless Bluetooth headphone support.iTunes sync - wipe your device featuresSingle iTunes sync Drab launcher GUILow resolution screenPointless lockscreen and probably more.. I am doing my best to forget my time with the iPhone. On the nice note I have a San Fran rootedClockworkMod r3 modaco custom romLaucher ProPauls - Market update(I pan to use the Move to SD once I get a 16GB micro sd) The San Fran is not as fast or nice as the other test phone we have on 2.2, but at around 1/4 of the price its fantastic.

Gotta agree with you about the gallery, although very nice when its working, 90% of the time, you're staring at it, waiting for it all to refresh, just to find it doesn't even do that properly, annoys the c**p outta me. I can't seem to find an alternative at the mo, dunno how easy it would be to attempt to put the sense version in, might have a go later and see what happens Edited October 10, 2010 by clivec
