unlocked san francisco reverted to orange from 3?

I've unlocked my san francisco and loaded the r3 rom and been using a 3 UK sim for several days. I looked at my phone last and it had selected the orange network even though it had my 3 sim in it. I manually selected 3 UK and it's been ok since - why would this happen?

Around the same time I had a problem with the memory card not being accessible which was corrected by reseating it and a switch off - could the two issues be related?

My daughter's Nokia N97 mini does this occassionally, except she's on O2, and it sometimes selects Orange.

Just wonder if its a bug in the firmware.

Obviously this problem is not just an Android issue.

3UK uses the Orange 2G network when the 3G signal drops.

was it roaming? just wondering if your own network went down and it picked up a roaming partner?

Strange, never had any issue with my phone. Who did u use to get your phone unlock btw?

As flibblesan says. The 3 network piggyback on Orange network when signals are weak
