Guest tdodd Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 Hi. I was trying to fine tune my San Fran by uninstalling user apps for which I think I will rarely have a use, and which I can install on demand rather than having them sit there for months on end. Included amongst those was RMaps. I've uninstalled it in the past and reinstalled without problem. This time round the app will not run. As soon as I start it it crashes. I have no idea why and don't know how I might find out. The error message reads.... Sorry! The application RMaps (process com.robert.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. The only option available is to Force Close. I've been running Paul's stock Orange ROM, from which I manually removed some Orange apps, several days ago and everything has been working fine since. I've tried flushing the RMaps cache, deleted the entire RMaps folder tree on the SD card, even formatted the SD card, and as a last resort reflashed the stock Orange ROM (using MCRi), this time with no further mods. I've uninstalled and reinstalled RMaps both through Appbrain and the new Market app and still it does not work. I've also tried reinstalling as many of the old apps as I can remember having installed before the big cull, but no difference. Everything else works, including all GPS apps, with the exception of RMaps. Google Maps is great, most of the time, but RMaps gives access to Ordnance Survey maps, which can be a useful alternative. The San Fran is my first foaray into the world of Android and I'm not a Linux guy. Can anyone suggest any way I might go about mending whatever is broken? TIA. :)
