I previously had high cpu issues caused by 'android system', but they appear to have completely gone now. The device is running well

However when I restart my phone watchdog lite pops up with an alert and says the gallery is above threshold @ 46% or even as high as 76% background. But when I go to normal task manager my cpu and memory usage are at normal levels and the whole Ui is running smooth.

Is this an issue?

UPDATE:

Restarted then added a load of photos to the phone to test, the watchdog showed an alert again and said the android media process was hitting 99% and i was getting high cpu issues again and laggy Ui until all the gallery had properly loaded.

Is there any way to fix this?? Is everyone getting this issue or just me? Does this happen on the stock Rom?

UPDATE:

Restarted again, no watchdog pop up, but now high cpu issues are back again, takeing even longer to settle down. bloody nightmare

Not really. It's just the gallery app reading the SD card looking for images to thumbnail. Does it on every boot.

Does this happen on the stock Orange Rom? Or is it a sepcific issue of this R3 rom? Does evryone have this?

Like I say i restarted again, but this time I got no pop up just high cpu and laggy Ui for longer is this normal?

How come it's different each time?

UPDATE : Just restarted again and got pop up for both android media process and gallery. + high cpu usage. Now the high CPU usage is back properly and it hasn't subsided.

UPDATE 2: Deleted Pictures, high cpu issue still there.....back to permenantly higha all the time now

I can' really have this, whats the best thing to do? go back to stock?

There's a startup manager you can get here which might kill all the startup apps you don't need.

I've posted in Pauls review how I have Watchdog Lite on my partners SF and it's nearly always reporting some app or another. For some reason apps on the SF seem to eat up CPU and all I can think is it's something to do with their firmware.

You know the 3D gallery app in the market is exactly the same but it doesnt generate the tumbnails every boot :)

(Used it on the Pulse. Trust me, I would know if it lagged)

Perhaps replace it with that one?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Problem is after I added those image files and then deleted them, it stayed with high cpu issues (99%). I the reformatted the card to FAT 32 (Was originally Fat) and still the same high cpu problems.

Then i turned it off and left it to recharge overnight. Turned it on today and now no cpu issues on startup!

It seems there is no method to the madness, sometimes I have no issues after restart sometimes I have issues. It just seems to unstable to use. Why is it that this is only happening with some SF's? It's really starting to P**s me off. When it runs well its so much better than stock rom, but when it starts messing around its close to unusable. Really need a solution.

Can I replace the Gallery App with 3d gallery app? though the normal gallery was cooked in to the rom
