To get to a somehow working battery icon in 2.1 I looked in the .bat file of this "utility":

http://forum.androidcentral.com/fascinate-...pk-utility.html

After decompiling, changing the files, adding icons and recompiling, it also copies the modified files into an original framework-res.apk.

This is how i got some parts of the phone working while including the circle battery.

However, its still crashing most of the time.

Feel free to try this BROKEN framework-res.apk for 2.1:

Make sure when you change files in the framework-res,apk that you STORE the files and not compress them

I find it easiest with winrar because if you drop files into the framework-res.apk it asks you what compression method you want to use.

Also in case anyone's interested the UOT kitchen http://circle.glx.nl/ works perfectly on the r10 MoDaCo Froyo 2.2 rom

edit I just read the previous post

It's much simpler to use Winrar, right click the framework-res.apk and open with Winrar (if Winrar isn't your default program)

Once open make a new folder on your desktop or anywhere you like and either extract the files to the new folder or drag the files/folders from the framework-res.apk with your mouse and drop into the folder

So whatever changes you want then when finished simply open the framework file with Winrar again and drag the files/folders into it, it will ask you what compression you want, click the dropdown box and choose store

Job Done.
