That's a VERY interesting experience in the light of the multiple threads about issues with wifi 'reconnection after sleep' with Paul's custom rom. Confirmation that wifi is turning off when the screen goes off! (Even with "never" set.) But its not really anything specifically to do with Barnacle ... so ... this is the wrong place to discuss it. One of the wifi problem threads would probably be a better (more helpful to you and others) route! Does this happen with the stock rom? Meantime, you could set the screen timeout to much longer than standard, so you only have to diddle with the phone every half hour or so to keep it active ...

One thing to try, would be running while charging from mains. The phone 'sleeps' differently depending on whether or not its charging. (As seen from different missed call notification handling.) Worth a try.
Guest neologan Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 I can confirm that barnacle stops working when the phone goes into sleep mode. I had this over the weekend when my only access to the net was to tether. I had to put screen refresh to 30 minutes to keep my sanity and then after 30 minutes it would go to sleep and the connection would die again. There is definitely something wrong with the San Fran or the rom, and wifi.

Guest ptdborth Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Just plug it in, set screen to never sleep and tether away..
