Hi, i recently bought my San Francisco and ulocked it to use my O2 simplicity PAYG Simcard.

I haven't rooted or install a custom ROM yet.

The problem is that 3G doesn't work with an O2 simcard, i called Customer Services and they said this phone is not recognized them and they can't send me a text to activate 3G on my mobile.

Does anyone know how to activate it? If I install the 3r Modaco custom ROM would i be able to use 3G with a PAYG O2 Simcard?

Thanks

Hi , thanks for your reply..

It's weird..

I enter all the details and when i click SAVE it goes back to the APN menu but it's empty..

If i only enter the name and the APN and save it i can see the created APN but if i fill in all the details and save it it's gone..

:)

Any thoughtS?

Thanks

Pretty sure I read someone else having a similar issue, tried searching? I think the disappearing APNs appeared for them once they rooted and stuck the custom ROM on.

I have a rooted and got r3 on my SF and 3G works fine on o2 payg. Signal is rubbish though....but not the phones fault!

Ok, just in case someone else have the same problem..

If i enter all the details it works, but the moment i change MNC - 20, then if i save it it disappears.

So i don't modify this value and it works, saves the APN and connects to 3G..

Weird, right?

This one really works. Except that dont change the MNC to 20, just keep it as it is. Thank you guys for this help. I had been running from pillar to post to get this sorted and both O2 and Ornage have been at the unhelpful best.

Thank you so much this was the final part of setting up my phone and it worked. I did not type in a few things exactly as stated and then finally realised why it wasn't working. I think being tired may have caused that.
