i would like to know if anyone else in here is in the same boat:

ever since i installed a custom rom (flb's 2.2 and cm6 2.2)

i am unable to send / receive mms messages

i even wrote the default apn settings from the stock 2.1 éclair on paper (lol, made a sheet)

data connection works, i can browse with 3g

BUT

every time i try to send an mms message i get the 3g logo with the arrows flashing and all that jazz, tho the message is never sent..

btw i got the redbull branded huawei u8230 with a simply all contract

telenor's default apn settings:

(in order of the apn settings menu)

name:

Telenor MMS

APN: mms

Proxy: not set

Prot: not set

Username: not set

Password: not set

Server: not set

MMS proxy: 84.255.255.1

MMS port: 8080

MCC: 216

MNC: 01

Authentication type: None

APN type: mms

this is exactly copied from the stock rom (where i can send/receive mms messages fine), and i'm still unable to use mms in any 2.2 roms i tried.

I don't know if things have changed on 2.2 (I'm not running it yet), but you used to have to alter the ro.config.mcc and ro.config.mnc in some of the earlier roms to set it to match the ones in your APN. The settings are in the local.prop (which on my current rom is in /system/cust/hw/default, but at least at some point was in /data). In later roms I think it was set to -1 or 0 to make it pick up the APN automatically, but I don't know if that works.
