US Dell Streak, Running O2 2.1 ROM. Need Factory Restore to Stock US 1.6?

I would like to upgrade to the US version of Froyo 2.2. I am currently Running the UK version 2.1 (O2 Splash screen at bootup).

I did a factory restore however this only seemed to reset all my data but kept the device running 2.1 UK version. :)

What I am looking for:

Is a guide to reflash my device to stock US 1.6 so that I can then install the 2.2 US Froyo.

If there is a better way to do this please let me know!

Edit: I did a search and see many similar threads but my issue is that I have US Phone (originally 1.6 US version) and am running the the UK version of 2.1 and I want the US Froyo. I dont see any threads that mention this part and I want to make sure that there will not be any issues...

you shouldn't go from 1.6 to 2.2...............please read all of the info..........there are soooooooo many threads on how to do this, just search and read, then go for it!! don't go back to 1.6 though............

That's exactly what I had...............just flash 2.2 from the "beta" thread.......

easy stuff!! Make sure you grab the build.prop file in that thread too, that will take care of most issues.............
