Hey Guys (and Ladies, if there is any :)),

I just want to ask the moderators to keep an eye on the threads, there are too many of them with the same content.

Please vote.

I strongly agree.

There seems to be lot of new people in now that SF has landed.

Some moderating is very much needed.

We already have 4 different "Blade vs. wildfire" topics for example...

i know that moderators do this out of their free time, so this is my "thank you" in advance :)

I think if people get their topics locked then the moderator should post a link to the original topic that the OP should refer to, so then they're not feeling lost over what to do.

Currently i dont see as much need for locking, but more combining duplicate/similar topics to one.

We need an FAQ. And a set of simple "how-to" guides with all the instructions to do common tasks (with no replies). It should cut down the number of repeated requests if they can be directed to just one thread.

We could use the wiki as we did at the Pulse, but nobody makes it sticky, so nobody contributes. BIGBEEAAARR?!

Agree with both.

Wiki might help ...

Guys, make use of the Report button. This makes the work of moderators much easier :)

I subscribed to this forum, meaning I get an email for every new topic, but I just can't read through all of them.

Best regards,

BB

Totally agree with this. We definitely need to reign in the super noobs. It is becoming very difficult to keep a track of important threads..

I can volunteer as a mod :)

I may be able to help.

I'm currently redeveloping my Android Guide (www.androidguide.co.uk) website. I'm rewriting the site as a dedicated web application (using Django/Python) instead of a Drupal content managed site.

My very nice friend Pastyface is writing a dedicated Android app which will be available in the market for free to browse all of the news, releases and information about Android phones.

As such, I will be looking for authors, contributors etc. to help me maintain the content. Currently, I'm checking the Pulse and San Francisco forums several times a day to collate all the changes whilst working full-time, and I'm at my limit.

If you want to contribute guides, maintain ROM releases or even manage an entire dedicated section for another Android device (besides the Pulse and San Francisco), please let me know.

The site will probably launch in a month or so.

Cheers,

Louis

I've done a bit of work on the Wiki, based on the latest threads to appear. Please feel free to modify or detail certain parts better.

I've added sections on accessories, split up rooting, clockworkmod and custom ROMs and put a brief bit of info on.

ClockWorkMod

Custom ROM

Unlocking

Replacement memory cards, partitioning and apps2sd

MMS settings for other networks

I agree. There were many thread about cases for SF. I saw one instance where someone posted a duplicate even though the original thread was only a few posts below it!

I will use the report button in future as suggested by BigBearMDC :)
