Just received my new Orange San Francisco. Put in my Orange contract sim from my Nokia 5800 but despite it saying the phone is on the orange network and the signal being on full 4 bars I can't make any calls or send messages. Though strangely enough I can use Orange GPRS internet.

This has already been answered in a previous thread, you need to activate the phone/sim by going to www.orange.co.uk/activate as it states on your invoice at the bottom. this will then lift the bar on the phone.

I thought I would only have to do this if I was using the new sim that came with the phone? So I need to activate the new sim which will also unlock the phone? I'll give that a try.

you have to register it no matter what even if you plan on throwing it away....

Ok thanks, did the activation process online and am waiting for them to do the business.

Thanks again for the help, I did a search on here to see if it was mentioned before but couldn't find it.

Thanks but its sorted now, it just started working about 20 minutes ago.

Love the phone so far, I've been playing Angry Birds, I'd actually never played it before.
