Preliminary Boot Animation

As we know, the boot animation has the colorful winds behind the dell logo and then there's a still dell logo until your homescreen is loaded.

Before the winds, though, there's also a still dell logo. This isn't apart of the bootanimation.zip, so where is it located then?

The animated part of the logo is the boot animation, this is located in the system/media/bootanimation.zip on the phone. Ive changed mine to a Superman logo (childish i know). Dont know how to remove the first dell logo, or add sound. YET!

That's what I needed to know. I'm guessing I'd have to extract the .img file and such?

Looks like this is also in an extracted form under /initlogo.rle

However, I'm not quite sure how to open it under Windows. There seems to be ways in Linux.

Installed a vmware Ubuntu install and got my RLE created. Re-packaged it into a new boot.img and re-flashed Steve's first Froyo install using boot, system and userdata.img (obviously using the boot I made). Not only is the logo I used not there, but now it's not loading anything. I'll restore using his boot for now, but any ideas what's up?
