HTCSense.com coming to "Classic" Desires in December?

If this thread over at XDA Developers is to be believed then HTCSense.com should be available for the "classic" HTC Desire around December time.

Another good news is to hand Desire the user to hear. HTC says the new interface will be extended to the whole Sense Desire family, so Desire can also upgrade the way through, enjoy the convenience brought new Sense interface, while supporting HTCSense.com. As for the upgrade schedule, HTC said that will probably be at December....

It also talks about the Desire getting the updated sense as well. Since they say december for this maybe it will be part of a Gingerbread update.

Word hit the streets in the UK that the update is rolling out OTA starting today. I'm figuring Paul should get his hands on an RUU in the next 48 hours, which means Desire / N1 builds in two to three weeks. I'm ignoring the DesireHD ports in favor of this, something we know will fit on the phone without the need for an external partition.

Have you got details of where i can read more about this update rolling out? it would be good to get a rom that fits on the phone, but im currently running a port from over at xda, and yes you do need an ext partition to fit everything in, but it runs flawlessly, it is so fast and the features are great. plus i still have over 100mb free internal space. its worth giving it a try

Here's what I read. My bet is the camera will be a much easier fix than what's currently floating around at xda.

It makes a point of saying it's got all the new goodies from the HD/Z, like the new caller ID, the new HTC Sync, etc. The build number is different as well. This is new stuff.

Where exactly does it say that? we already have the new sync software

This is not the new Sense from Desire HD. AFAIK (or read) it's a new'ish version for users that don't have the latest Froyo on some network (too lazy to check the name).

This should be a big hint:

The update will provide 720p video capture, HTC’s App Share widget <--- Why would they advertise something we already have?

Sorry for bashing your dreams but I don't want to see someone on xda or anywhere else reposting your claims because that's how rumors start and then we'll be disappointed. Just wait and see and be amazed. :)

Read again, then eat your hint.

Nah, its not the new Sense.

"The update will provide 720p video capture, HTC’s App Share widget, as well as our enhanced HTC Caller ID, and improved multi-language keyboard. Also, through the update, HTC Sync will allow HTC Desire users to sync their music with iTunes.

I think that you guys are confused about the "Enhanced HTC Caller ID", because that comes in the Desire HD rom, if im not wrong.

The update enhances support for Facebook status display when dialing. Not Desire HD.

Most likely we'll get it in December.

You need to read again too... That quote is from THEIR PREVIOUS UPDATE, as IT IS CLEARLY STATED in that text...

I'm going to go with dawo5010 on this one.

I'm not saying that a new senseUI will not come for the Desire, I'm just saying that nowhere does it say anything about the features that are actually new in Sense HD. Like HTCSense.com, HTC Books, HTC Location, HTC Navigation, HTC Hub, HTC Likes etc.

The Caller ID is not a new feature, App Sharing is not a new feature, HTC Sync with ITunes is not a new feature etc.

I think it's just an update for a carrier that hasn't got the latest and greatest from the unbranded Desires.

I'm not saying this update will bring the DesireHD features, BUT it is not the same update that happened 2 months ago... That text in the link has 2 PARTS: one saying that today an update will be released (version 2.25.771.1)

AND a 2ND PART, talking about the new features OF THE PREVIOUS UPDATE, THE ONE RELEASED 2 MONTHS AGO...

When HTC first announced the Froyo upgrade back at the end of July it stated:

"As well as including the complete set of Android 2.2 features, the update will contain a few special additions of our own through the latest iteration of HTC Sense.

"The update will provide 720p video capture, HTC’s App Share widget, as well as our enhanced HTC Caller ID, and improved multi-language keyboard. Also, through the update, HTC Sync will allow HTC Desire users to sync their music with iTunes.

"HTC Desire users will be notified that the over-the-air update is available to download when their phone automatically checks for software updates. The update won’t delete any of the phone’s content. However, due to the size of the update, we would advise using a Wi-Fi connection to download it wherever possible to avoid additional data charges".

Right then, we're all in agreement, this is not the Desire HD ROM and has no features of the HTC Desire HD. Let's move on.
