GPS SUPL setting

I was just reading a thread on XDA about improving the GPS on the Captivate. So I had a look and the GT540 uses the address lge.glpals.com but on XDA they suggest supl.google.com

Anybody know what difference this would make or even what it's for.

if you download android system info from the market it tells you everything about the phone.

Actually I got it from the GPS settings in the service menu - 3845#*540#

OK I'm guessing the URL points to a server that tells the phone where the satellites are meant to be. Can't say changing it to supl.google.com has made much difference if any.
