Orange San Francisco - Dust under screen.

Hello

I got a lot of dust under the screen of my San Francisco, only 11 days used. On the left hand bottom of the screen. Contacted Orange who after bumping me through several departments diagnosed this (using their online diagnostic tools!?!). They are replacing the handset tonight.

Is this a prevalent problem or is this a one off? I am getting skeptical that ZTE may have cut costs by not doing a thorough enough QC.

Hope my case is a one off. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

Just checked mine, and there's nothing under the screen. Although I can see that dust 'may' get in when you operate the buttons, there is a very slight gap if you press hard??

Have you been putting it in your pocket without a pouch? I've got one for mine partly because I didn't want this kind of issue.

Yes, I have. But I did that will all other phones and did not have any problems.

I don't like pouches, but if it would help, don't mind a case. Any recommendations?

*Gasps*

A little bit of white tissue dust fell behind the buttons last night :)

*Desperately tries to see it*

*Closes mouth around the buttons and starts sucking*

*Gags on the revolting air that comes out*

Seriously don't try this.. Cant be good for your health! Really, it was one of those tastes/smells (What would you call this) that could knock you out

Damn you!

Seeing the responses, it appears that it could just be my handset that had the problem.

I have received the new phone now and hope it remains dust free.

I will invest in a good case, heard the E71 / C3 silicone cases fit well.

Not all silicone cases are equal ... and some are worse than others

The best I can say is that it fits ... kinda

I had mine for 5 days now and it seems to be collecting dust on the top right corner of the screen!

I'm gonna hold it off for a couple more days and if things get worse I'm gonna try and get it replaced aswell ...

Same problem with mine; worse top right of the screen but also a bit on the bottom right. I'm sure hacking it will have indemnified the warranty so I'm considering taking it apart and fixing the problem myself!!! Any advice? :P

I have same problem, bottom of the screen for me.

Not sure if it is from when I first got it with no silicon case etc. or now - I don't use any other case for it.

I did see a guide somewhere but did'nt like the look of it TBH - got ine from Argos so if anyone gets any joy getting replacement let me know.

I've had my OLED sf for more than six months now, and there is no dust under screen whatsoever, yet relative who bought her sf approximately four months ago (TFT one) is already having some dust under the screen (bottom right corner, near the speaker). We both been keeping them in htc's cases for desire (PO S520) since basically day one, so I guess zte took better care of qc on earlier batches. Or it might be random. One thing is for sure: not every sf develops this issue.

Didn't think of it before... but just checked, and yep — dust near the speaker.

Carrying in pocket without pouch. Got it 2 months ago.
