Had WiFi on in my house before I left for work for about an hour..............limited use, and have wifi, gps, turned off

Looks like I'll get about 12 hours of life with limited use...............seems about the same as when I was on 2.1 .......... What are you getting?

I'm also running 2.2 beta 1.

I think I'm getting much better battery life than you. I recently plugged in my phone to copy a file to the SD here at work, so I don't have the whole day's stats. But having unplugged at ~7:45 am, now 4:45 pm, about 9 hours total, with <5 minutes plugged in about an hour ago, I've got 68% of battery left. I didn't do much with wifi at home, disabled it once I got to work. Have wifi/3G/etc turned off. Screen brightness set to minimal on the slider.

I have spent a fair bit with Snesoid, and Aldiko, but snesoid apparently has little to no impact on battery life. Given the relative power of the Streak vs. a SNES... that's understandable.

I also haven't made any calls today(typical, for me). A few days ago, I made a longish call(~40 mins), and it seemed to rip through battery life quickly.

[rant]

I'm using a pre-paid AT&T SIM, which is why 3G is off all the time. Smallest AT&T plan is 450 mins/month... I might talk on the phone(any phone, not just cell, with exception of work conf. calls) for half that, mostly to my family, who also have AT&T phones, so the minutes are free. That the minutes roll over is useless, as I just don't talk on the phone that much, except to people for whom I'm not charged minutes. Post-paid plans make no sense for me...

I leave my 3g running for data..........lots of text messages with my kids/ girlfriend, etc............little bit of Word Feud...........and some facebook while working........ that may explain it...........

StreakDroid Froyo 1 v2

6h 03m since unplugged

73% battery

Cell Standby 33%

Phone Idle 26%

Display 4%

Wi-Fi 28%

Voice Calls 6%

Touiter 2%

I flashed the v2 last night at 11pm, woke this morning after doing it (full battery) and I still had 98% after 7 hours.....impressive.

The v2 is an improvement on battery in my opinion, I also have 330 apps or so installed.

I'm holding off for a few just to see if anything changes or a Vs3 comes out.........too much of a pain to rearrage my apps and stuff all the time.........I can live with the current battery life, but I'm sure it can and will be improved! ...........thanks for reporting!

Unplugged since 11 hours and 39 minutes and the battery is at 54%.

It is very impressive :)

Cell standby = 48%

Phone standby = 43%

Screen = 6%

Android system = 2%

Used to read tweet, listen music, surfing and some SMS. All in 2 hours, I think.

I have changed some parameters with my terminal during one or two hours.

I have the lastest version of 2.2 Stephen's build (v2) and I have installed Launcher Pro in place of ADW.

Thank you very much Stephen for your hard work :)

still not as good as 1.6 that was freakin awesome battreylife and this shoud be our target goal if someone with a dell streak with v1.6 can give us their battrey stats here we can compare them to froyo and then we can see how far we are off from achieving the 1.6 battrey life.

I'm about to reboot after my Froyo Beta v0.2 daily orientation bug manifestation :)

(it gets stuck in upside-down landscape mode, not sure if this is unique to my Streak - I checked the sensor with a market app and x,y,z etc values are changing but orientation is not - happens with any launcher, I think it's something system level getting confused about something)

So here are my numbers, it's seen a fair bit of use over lunch but no voice calls:

7h 52m 32s since unplugged

Battery: 78%

Cell Standby: 32%

Wi-Fi: 32%

Phone idle:27%

Display: 8%

Display is on autobright.

It's definitely an improvement over v0.1, and on par with what I was seeing with 2.1 (I didn't use 1.6 long enough to notice how good battery life was or not).

It is strange... My phone is on .2 of the Froyo beta, I've had it unplugged since 7:37 AM EST yet it reports 1Hour 40Minutes and 58seconds since unplugged.

So Actually at 6 hours and 35 minutes I am at

50%

46% cell standby

42% Phone Idle

5% Display

2% Android System

2% Maps

I found some apps will destroy my battery life if they are hiding in the background - Twitter running in the background, even with no network on ruined my battery.

I find that if the phone is just sitting there, all wireless, bluetooth, data and gps off, with no apps hiding in the background, then the battery will live for ever. Probably two and a half days, however in real use it'll never happen like that. This phone was made to be used.

With a bit of use during day, I find I can make it from 100% in the morning to about 50-70% at night, depending if I was surfing or playing games watching flash.

Froyo by DJ Steve Beta .1 with .2 build.prop (KUDOS to DJ Steve!!!)

Battery level 14% --- 0%

Uptime 24h 23m --- Last time checked 25h 15m

Usage was something like this... Rrunning on EDGE all the time, turned on Wi-Fi a couple of times to play slingbox and download some mail and an update. Played about 2 hours of angry birds, browsed for about 30 minutes, talk time about 20 minutes total. Sent about 50 messages using either Fring, GTalk, Whatsapp, I also have Juice Defender, no task managers/killers. I have the facebook widget going on, no twitter, and I think that describes all, I'll wait until it reaches 1% then I'll test tomorrow with 3G and see how this goes.

8:51PM Started with WCDMA only. 100%

1:37PM battery is at 70% (Woke up at 93% )(So far I've had the alarm set off at 7am, and so far I've browsed for about 15 mins on wifi, had Fring, GTalk, whatsapp running all morning, Installed the asphalt game downloaded about 10MB before I had to quit the game and stop the downloads. Will use it a bit more and see how it goes through the day.

UPTIME @1:37PM 16h 42m

11:42PM battery at 4% Didn't use the streak that much today I guess I had same things running and turned on wifi to download 51MB of the remaining asphalt files, played asphalt, about 3 rounds and then played some angry birds . I had WCDMA only for connection, screen brightness is set at lowest in all tests, also facebook updates go off at every 4 hours I believe.

I'm surprised that the majority of the battery drain happens when the display is off and the phone is idle. Turning off background data helped a lot though.
