Camera/Camcorder not loading

Hi there, since flashing to r3 I've been unable to load either the camera or camcorder.

When I try to load either app the screen freezes momentarily before flipping to horizontal with a completely black screen. I can still see the 3g and network signal strength bars at the top, and the notifications bar is still there and can be scrolled up and down.

Apart from that the screen is black and will not move out of landscape mode no matter how I turn the phone. Pressing the home button brings back the home screen and restores orientation.

Very strange. I flashed the stock rom but no change. I also reset to factory settings and reflashed r3 but still no joy. I'm flashing in recovery mode and besides this have had no problems.

try doing a wipe of your data partition etc (using clockwork)

Hi, and thanks for the reply.

I wiped the partition and reset the phone via clockwork then flashed the stock rom and the camera loaded properly...then I tried the camcorder but that didn't load. Then the camera failed on the second attempt so now both are back to the original problem.

I've wiped and flashed the phone about a dozen times now with no effect so maybe I'll just delete everything (including clockwork) and begin from scratch maybe on a different OS.

Edit: how exactly do you delete clockwork so that your phone is free of all trace of meddling? Just in case i need to return it!

download and reflash the stock recovery
