Corrupt sd card?

Hi all. I want to change my boot animation and copy the zip file to my sd card from my computer.

However, when I try to move the file from the sd card to data/local, I get an error saying there was not enough space and that the sd card is mounted as read only. Then I get the sd card symbol in the task bar with a question mark next to it.

This isn' the first time this has happened. I recently had the exact same problem, put a card in that was ok, phone wouldn't boot, put the apparantly corrupt card in and phone booted fine but the card couldn't have anything transferred to and from it, the question mark was permanently in the task bar.

In the end I had to get another sd card, format it etc, copy the fake flash image onto it and the rom zip and had to completely wipe everything and start from scratch.

Up until tonight, I have had no further problems but once again, it seems there is something corrupt about the card, although I can use the phone just fine and my apps as far as I can tell, I just can't add or remove stuff to or from the card.

I wonder if anybody might have any ideas as to why this could happen and does it mean I have to go through the whole wipe and re install my rom once again?
