Custom ROM for GT540 Black Edition (TEST)!

You need to install 2.1 with Fastboot in order to use this ROM !

PS: First start after flashing will be long because of a cache. After the initial setup I recommend to make one more reboot, and then put the programs.

Download ROM from link in this post (Black System ROM)

2. Then turn on device with Volume Up+Search keys, now in Fastboot Mode.

3. Now you must run

fastboot flash system system.img

fastboot reboot

Yes, you need to flash the russian rom with fastboot and then flash this :)

This looks sweet man...I tried metamorph but no luck...Just Im English and will be using an 02 simcard, Do you think this ROM will be as stable as the 2.1 baltic ROM etc?.

It looks good...Just don't want to screw up my phone/run into problems for something that isn't worth it? On XDA it also states it has to be the unofficial ROM? Well someone posted that it would need to be the unofficial Russian ROM.

Does it add anything to the Baltic + app2sd...no, not really, its just another Russian Custom job, with 2 times the chance to **** your phone up with failed flashes, etc... :)

Good to see someone doing something, but its a sidestep, not any kind of advancement.

Could you please upload framework-res.apk and lge-res.apk from that ROM? (they are in /system/framework)

Any way I can get my ROM to look like this without reflashing?

I extracted them from system.img and pushed them to /system/framework but the clock in status is still black :) Sometimes, text in notifications is black too.

It's Weather & Toggle Widgets.

I used H7C skin for the clock and Weather Vector skin for the weather.

Ahh...lol, the slower, guzzling, bug ridden(IMO) version of Fancy Widget. :)

Fancy Widget does not allow me to change the skin and sometimes it drains battery life. The percent of Fancy Widget in Battery Use is too high, it's even over Android System.

I guess you also need to modify services.jar to change clock font color. Here i've found a how-to, perhaps this can help you with this modification:

I stand corrected of my post stated before...

It works a treat with certain notification icons, I use Trillian now not E-buddy therefore I don't have problems with icons looking out of place in the notifications bar.
