Updating GMAIL app throught market

Hello everybody,

As you see I'm on first release ROM from Xian & Koudelka on a Eclair Acer BIN, from around 1 month, and I have experienced so far no unresolved or severe problms.

I have so far downloaded and installed a lot of apps via market and / or from elsewhere, I only got in the last days problems with SKYPE ( installed Nimbuzz as a turnaround and it works nicely ).

It is about 10 days now I can't update GMAIL with last version available in market. Only thing I could test is removing the resident app ( I believe is 2.2) via Titanium and reinstalling via market with the last version ( I think it should be 2.3 ), but I am afraid of what could happen if I am not able to install from market and maybe neither reinstall the old backupped version (this time via Titanium).

This is a really sensitive app in Android world, so I take it easy and I am more careful than I usually am.

Any suggestion ?

Hi There Alexzandro.

I´ve never seen an update of Gmail in the market... i can't see any gmail .apk in my searches...(Using LCR 1.8.1)

i thought the gmail app is for 2.2 only i have downloaded and it works fine on the 2.2 leaks.

Anyway, as You know Xian/Koud looks to the market as a Froyo release, so I actually run version 2.2 of GMAIL, it weights in memory for 1,59 mb .

Checking update on the market....... : the version is 2.3 and weights 1,55 mb.

Trying to install ( a manual installation is requested ) , it downloads and after it says ....installing, and suddenly ends with:..Installation not successfull. In the notification bar there is a black triangle with a "!" in the middle.

This happens from at least ten days.

Tried also reverting the app on phone, no result.

Should I try wiping the cache of the app and then trying to update ?

guys, try using APKtor to update Gmail, it's already here...
