Guest prufrock Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 I can thoroughly recommend the Nokia E71 case mentioned earlier in this thread. It's absolutely fantastic value, it looks brilliant with my SF, my other half is very impressed with how smart it looks, and of course it fits the phone brilliantly. 5 stars from me. I bought one of these, as they were so cheap. I found the one I got does not fit the phone well. Also, the volume keys are obscured. I'd recommend the one I posted pics of earlier over this one any day. If anyone wants pics of this one, let me know - I'll take some later to show what I mean.

The volume keys were okay on my one, I have to admit I did a small amount of filing on the opening for the USB lead / charger; it only took me a minute though, and for £1.74 I really don't mind that at all :P
Guest k0nrad Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) This listing: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Android-mobile-phone...=item19c043005b Says “IF YOU NEED A DIFFERENT SIZE , JUST ASK” I wonder what the best sizes sticker would be to cover up the orange logo without it looking to big? I don't own a device yet, but I assume the orange logo is not larger than 10x10mm, based on photos and phone dimensions. I made some sticker mock-ups: The robot sticker is 21mm high if orange logo is 10mm high or smaller - looks pretty good to me, definitely better than Flibble's one :D For this one you'd need a 12mm high robot sticker, a 10x10mm white sticker, a modelling knife and a bit of crafting skills to trim things nicely. For bigger/smaller ones if my assumption about the orange logo is wrong - do your math :P Edited October 22, 2010 by k0nrad
Guest dizzyjj Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 First off used my original Pulse pouch but it was a little loose as it was well stretched so order the Nokia E71 guanine leather case (in the early post) good fit but not perfect. I then ordered this one it of ebay. 280556223205 GENUINE POUCH CASE FOR HTC T-MOBILE GOOGLE G1 PO-S460 Turned out to be an original Tmobile case, exact same as the pulse case (Black velvet like outer and a soft fine fleece type liner). New so its not stretched and a perfect fit (doesn’t move in case even when turned upside down).
Guest prufrock Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) I've just ordered one of these, yes can we have pics please? Here you go. Notice how the phone doesn't sit well in the case, and the volume buttons are obscured. Also, the charger port is partly covered, too: Don't forget to compare to the photos I posted earlier on in the thread to the £2.50 case (now £2.99, but worth the money, as it's a great fit). Ignore the other case in the photos - that's a Samsung Galaxy S case...it's too big for the SF (and too expensive!). Edited October 22, 2010 by prufrock

Guest jimmy2x2x Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Even if you do cut it, the phone still doesn't quite sit properly in the case. That's why I took a photo of the top of the phone - to show how it's not sitting securely in the case. Hold it above something soft, like a bed and try and shake it free - it might not be perfect, but it is secure
Guest prufrock Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Hold it above something soft, like a bed and try and shake it free - it might not be perfect, but it is secure I'd say rather than mess about cutting, just buy this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=130399099161 Fits like a glove. (See my pics on page 1). :P

(See my pics on page 1). :D Good call :P I'm still not convinced this is the right type of case for me, I was out in town the other day carrying a bag with one hand and the phone rang - it was quite an ordeal trying to open it and accept the call with one hand. This might be inherent to this type of handset, but my old slider phone could manage it no worries!
Guest weba Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 The seller has got smaller ones (17mmx20mm) - I've asked. In fact, he's got an Orange SF! You've done the hard work for me! Ordered mine yesterday but just messaged the guy in hopes he can make one of my stickers the smaller one.
Guest amd3000 Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 I did read somewhere that cases with magnetic clasps can damage the gps function on your mobile. Has anyone found this to be a problem ?
Guest dadashi Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Magnetic clasps can erase data from the microsd card....
Guest popoyaya Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 (edited) Just got delivery of these screen protectors, and whilst they fit perfectly and the "anti-glare" works well and they stop smudging, they do make the display look very grainy which really detracts from the wonderful screen on the SF. Can anyone recommend a more "clear" screen protector? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SAMSUNG-i900-OMNIA-A...e#ht_2089wt_906 Edited October 24, 2010 by popoyaya

Guest LorianNod Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Someone may have already posted this, but I bought one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT And its a perfect fit, not at all baggy. Its nicely made too, and is soft on the inside. I'm not the seller,

Guest MIKEYMC Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Yeah visited london many times and I'm not a fan really. Prefer to live in the sticks TBH.

I did get a 'side opening case' from Tesco on Friday (as mentioned by xzyk in other thread) which has magnetic cover and holds the SF well but its a bit tricky to get the phone out quickly and I think a flip case allows much easier access.
Guest diggeroony Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 This is the E71 case from ebay, very good fit.
Guest Apnomis Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Hi, This is my first Post here and I'd like to say "Hi!" and Thanks for this great Forum and your custom Roms! Also I'd like to use this opportunity to issue a word of warning regarding "Black Leather Case Cover Pouch Orange fit San Francisco" from "1smltd". I just bought two of them (stupid me!) and this is what I received: I don't think it requires further comments... eBay doesn't even allow to leave negative feedback earlier than 7 days after the auction... :P If someone can recommend a proper fitting case, that would be appreciated. Thanks! raph To be fair to the seller I have one of these too and IMO it is a nice case for under 3 quid. Yes it looks big when photographed like that but it is a very flat case and when the phone is in it pushing it out it is a very secure fit with a reasonable amount of padding around the edges which is surely the point of a good case? It even has a nice pop up strap like the HTC cases. It depends what you want in a case but for me this one is perfect providing a snug fit (even if held upside down) and a couple of cm's clearance around the edges to protect it if dropped... If not happy ask for a refund rather than just leaving negative feedback, which is unreasonable if you ask me. Most sellers would happily do that rather than get negative feedback...

Guest dadashi Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 (edited) This is the E71 case from ebay, very good fit. Does it need a rubber band to stop the phone dropping out on its own accord...? :P Edited October 24, 2010 by dadashi
Guest yug0 Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 No, i have the e71 case too, no chance of it falling out

(See my pics on page 1). :P Hi Prufrock, this case looks good as I dont want to put a screen protector on as i think it will take something away from the screen. With this case, is there any danger of damaging the rubber coating on the SF or the crome bits when it is snapped in to and fixed in the case? Cheers Chris
