I can't root my GT540?!?!?!

I've followed all the provided instructions, but when I get to this step:

- Select the option 'Module Test', then 'Stability Test' then 'Enable Root Permission'

The problem is, there *is* no option to "Enable Root Permission."

All I have is:

Data Abort

Prefetch Abort

Kernel Panic

Abort by User Mode

:)

When you creating topic like this, please specify more information... I would like to know what Android OS version you are using ? Is it 1.6 (Donut) or 2.1 (Eclair) ?

1.6

Use Universal Androot that I have attached.

Unzip it, and put it on your SD card, and use something like Astro File Manager to install it.

It's pretty foolproof, just follow the prompts.

That's great.

Thanks bro, I'll give that a go tonight.

Appreciate it!

Hi,

I have same issue like BK2FUT.

After selecting the option 'Module Test', then 'Stability Test' i cant find 'Enable Root Permission'

I am running Android 2.1 on my LG GT540.

Can I also ask for detailed instruction on how to root my LG?

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing he means, the post RottenFoxBreath made above about using Universal Androot.

Doesn't work on 2.1 though...it was only meant for the guy who is still on 1.6.

Universal AndRoot worked perfectly; thanks again RFB.

:)

Now that I'm rooted... time to figure out what to do with it.

Sucessfully rooted my LG Optimus. Downloaded astro file manager, put that apk file into my sd card, worked perfect :P

Started off by downloading a OverClocker widget.

Now my Optimus runs smooth ^^
