Guest rabydanimal Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 I installed the first 2.2 release the manual way (by updating the baseband and flashing each .img separately). That worked and I have been using that build for a few days now but I would like to upgrade to the .2 release. The problem is, my recovery partition seems to be FUBAR. I have tried flashing all the stock and koush versions I can find and all of them refuse to boot. When I hold vol down and the power button it just boots up normally. It's the same if I do an adb reboot recovery and reboot in recovery mode within ROM Manager. Any help is appreciated!

By holding vol down you mean hold down both volume buttons, right? Not just the down one? It's not a rocker, despite looking like one. Generally I hold power until the home/menu/back lights come on, then move to holding down both vol up and vol down, until the recovery menu loads. When you flash it via fastboot, it says recovery complete on the phone, then unplug and pull battery to turn off? Might also check if you have that /system/etc/install_recovery.sh in place and causing issues.

I flashed to 2.2 the manual way (clockwork is on from previous 2.1) and was trying to downgrade back to 2.1 so my baseband would return by running the 4399 recovery and then running the 8105 update. However, no matter what kind of recovery I flash, after I select flash via update.pkg, I just get a black screen. Unless I have 2.5.0.1 CW on there, then it boots to that. Any ideas? EDIT: Just saw I had that install_recovery.sh. Deleted it and gonna try to fastboot a factory recovery in. EDIT2: Still getting a blank screen after selecting option 2. Should I give formatting the /system a try? EDIT3: Got it fixed. Edited October 14, 2010 by JaysFreaky
Guest rabydanimal Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Thanks all but a "fastboot erase recovery" then a flash back to stock then a flash to clockwork did the trick.
