Guest chris9181 Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 Im running a stock SF and just went into 'mail' as I thought I would enter my Tiscali settings. It looks like its something to do with orange as I opened it and it just kept flashing 'cannot verify number' Is this not the bog standard email app? Cheers

Guest Sebastian404 Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Have you unlocked your phone and gone to another network? The version of email that comes with the SF is one that only works on Orange's network, just like the My Orange and Orange Shop apps, they only work if you on their network.

I'm also interested in this - yes mine is unlocked to a diff provider but not booted/rommed/whatever!! I have set up a shortcut to my mail provider - i assume that's the only way to do it without removing the orange stuff?

Download either my or Pauls ROM, unzip the file, and look for Email.apk, it will be in system/app/ directory.. then do the following adb remount adb push Email.apk /system/app/ adb reboot That should sort you out. or failing that there are alternative email applications on the market.

Yes I unlocked it and using my t-mob contract sim. Not techy confident enough to change from rom as wouldn't have a clue what to do id something went wrong.

If there was someone local to me (dorset) who could remove the orange stuff I'd be well made up! I don't mind paying but a local shop wanted £25 which I thought a bit steep!! I know everyone says it's straightforward and easy but I lack the confidence!
