Desire wont boot

Hi!

Tired so i will try to make this as short and consistent as i can.

Was gonna change ROM today, and ofcourse i took a Nandroid backup before i started. Well, later i couldnt get the flash to work, it would boot with the new ROM, so i desided to restore from Nandroid.

Well.. Got a 'Unknown MD5' checksum error. Read a post on XDA on how to fix this. Just by ADB shell, deleting the checksum file, and creating a new one. What i got was the same result. Again. I have to say, i couldt get the adb commands to work, so i copied the backup to my computer, made the checksum file, and copied evrything back. Could this be the error?

Desperate to get my Desire back up. Stuck between 1 ROM that wont boot, and 1 ROM that wont restore :/

Any tips on how i can get the MD5 to correspond? BTW, getting a 'exec '/system/bin/sh' failed' error when i try it via adb.

Okey, just a little update here.

Tried full reset, format of SD card, SD-ext, cache and all. Re-flashed and then booted without the SD-card. It seemed to work! But no, it boots, i get the first-time-setup, and after this, it crashes 'setup' FCs. After this i get nothing :/ Wait for some time and then 'System' gets force close. Oh, and i tried this with 2 different ROMS.

if you have a gold card i would try to insert that then flash the original ROM - if that doesn't boot at least then you could take it back for warrenty

Just install your previoud ROM. You can manually copy back the nandroid data later if you need it, but it is a bit f a hassle. You must mount the .img-giles and then push the files into their right directorys. And you should not touch the system bit or the data of system apps, because overwriting them is asking for trouble.
