OTA update killed WIFI

I received an ota update notification and installed an update two days ago but after installation my Wifi has totally stopped working.

Settings|Wireless & networks|Wifi Option cannot be ticked and shows "Error" status.

Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it? (I cant find any recent posts relating to just wifi).

Were you running a custom ROM and then applied the OTA on top?

Sounds to me like your WiFi module isn't compatible with the new Kernel the OTA may have installed.
