Guest DaneelS Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 I was wondering if this was some sort of conflict, but I've just done a fresh flash of Sebastian's fixed ROM, and installed Handcent SMS as the first app. Still, if I open the app, press menu, and press more, I get blank options. They do show up if you press on them, but that's not overly helpful. Anyone know how to fix this? I prefer Hancent to Chomp, but this bug isn't giving me much choice!
Guest c0m47053 Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Yeah, I had the same problem. Changed the skin and theme to Dark and Hero (or the other way around, i.e. hero skin and dark theme), and presto! You may be able to get away with just changing the theme or skin, but I didn't time to test (my partners phone). Hope that helps.

Guest chris9181 Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 That did fix it. Thanks! Hi Can you please clarify which setting you tweaked to got the options to show without having to press a blank screen first. Also, can any Handcent users please confirm if Handcent popup allows a larger contact pic similar to Chompsms? I used Handcent some time back and the pic in the popup was very small. Many thanks

Many thanks I chose the hero theme and dark skin as c0m47053 suggested.

Many thanks I managed to double check the settings, and its just the theme that needs changing. From the Handcent homescreen, hit the menu button and go into settings. Enter the 'Custom style' section and tap the 'Theme' item. You should have the option of 'Black' or 'Light' (light will be selected by default). Select 'Black' and you should now be able to see the menu. Hopefully, that should sort your problem.

Guest BillBong Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Does Handcent give you the date/time stamp when the message was sent? It's pretty annoying that android just seems to give you the received time.

Guest dragon2611 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) Nope. Actually it does but not for every message. The date/time shows above the message bubble if it's been more than a few minutes since the last message in that particular conversation Or at least that's what it's doing on my phone, can't remember if it's the default behaviour or something that had to be switched on in the settings.
