Guest vulpy Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 i already changed my Blade twice... 1) screen flickering, a problem with the led drivers 2) wifi module issue, signal too low. the 3rd phone works great... since yesterday ... how about yours?
Guest idroid84 Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Mines worked great since day 1 :) Fingers crossed it stays like that. Had the odd FC but that's cos I am swapping files alot with different APKs
Guest DaneelS Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 I had a screen problem, it wouldn't respond to touch half the time. My second one has been fine so far. Wifi disconnects quite a bit but that doesn't really bother me.
Guest Simon O Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 First phone I bought works perfect. I've bought several phones for other people and they seem to work fine also. I guess it's just down to bad luck that you had some faulty devices.
Guest jdtanner Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 First one went back with a faulty headphone jack, current one has a squeaky volume rocker, ill fitting back case, and a loose set of hard keys. Quality control is always an issue with Chinese manufactured equipment imho; I had five Macbook Pros before I got one that wasn't broken in some way or another. John
Guest androidswillkillusall Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 what's the warranty period like from Orange..?
Guest What_The_Fox_Hat Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Had to return my first one - had an issue with the screed where intermittently it took on a yellow hue and had some artefacts around some of the text. Second has been fine.
Guest abbas_sheikh Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 None of the problems you have mentioned .... since 2 weeks I had it. Spot on except small capacity battery.
Guest tgomas Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 I have had 2 and getting a fresh one. First one had slightly dodgy screen, second had a poor fitting back case. Hopefully third time lucky. However I am super fussy and only make only £5.02 an hour so you may not find these to be a problem.
Guest Andysan Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 First timer fine for me, 100% no issues. Bet I;ve jinxed it now.
Guest retrend Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 im considering returning mine for exchange, the touch screen is spacking out several times a day
Guest Azurren Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 im considering returning mine for exchange, the touch screen is spacking out several times a day So does mine.. But then I realized that the way I hoold my phone a little of my hand is resting on the bottom right corner of the screen :)
Guest retrend Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 mine has started not recognising inputs when the phone is lying on a desk. ive not returned it yet because im wondering if im just imagining the whole thing, but its getting far beyond that stage now :/
Guest Cobble Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 I have mine over 2 weeks now without a single issue. First one went back with a faulty headphone jack, current one has a squeaky volume rocker, ill fitting back case, and a loose set of hard keys. Quality control is always an issue with Chinese manufactured equipment imho; I had five Macbook Pros before I got one that wasn't broken in some way or another. John No offense intended here, but the Apple staff probably have you tagged as 'impossibly picky'.
Guest jt! Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 my first one made really crunchy noises when it vibrated, and the main row of buttons were really loose. Took it back to the orange shop i bought it from in Nottingham and the woman was useless, she refused to accept it was defective. So went to the other orange shop and the lady immediately replaced it. So then turns out, i now have another one with a crunchy/loose vibrator and now squeeky volume buttons. My girlfriends and housemates one works perfectly.... just my luck. I still love it... but can i be asked to go try get another....
Guest dadashi Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Had to return my first one - had an issue with the screed where intermittently it took on a yellow hue and had some artefacts around some of the text. Second has been fine. The sanfransisco is very cheap in it's class with all the hickups of a cheapie, the only thing going for it is a good screen and android 2.1. Otherwise below average build, low quality speaker, buttons, microphone, battery, etc... As a 2nd mobile phone with 3,5" tablet for internet, sms and calls for €99 it's ok... it won't replace my trusty old N95 :)
Guest LouisUK Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Well my SF has gone fubar on me. Screen is completely unresponsive nor working at all. Ive only owned it for a week, worst thing is i cant find my receipt! Whats the odds that i could get it replaced with my receipt?? Bought in store.
Guest jt! Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 legally you don't need a receipt i believe as its faulty! But my experience with orange has been 50 50. One shop was horrendous. the other amazing. Id say just stay cool and if it doesn't work out try a different store. http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/sal...ts/your-rights/ has some interesting info regarding your rights and the fact u don't need a receipt.
Guest screwface Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Phone works fine. I've dropped it around 6 times since ive had it on a variety of different surfaces. Still working fine no cracks or scratches either.

No offense intended here, but the Apple staff probably have you tagged as 'impossibly picky'. Well, two Macs arriving with bits missing (via custom orders), one with a broken case (screen didn't close at all) , and two broken screens (smashed...literally)...not picky in my book.

Unlucky. Tho atleast a couple could be put down to incompetent couriers if you bought them online.
Guest jdtanner Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Unlucky. Tho atleast a couple could be put down to incompetent couriers if you bought them online. One was the courier, the rest were pre-shipping...meh. Anyway, I still use and recommend Macbooks :)
Guest clivec Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Have to say, i had one of the first ones available in our local store, and it's been really good. Although i have noticed lately that the volume rocker is a bit vague, works but it doesn't have a very positive click any more. Otherwise brilliant. Had it as my main phone for a while now, but i'm missing my N900 so i've just ordered another one (the ultimate geek phone imho) :)
Guest Jon_V Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 My home button has developed a creaking and mushiness over the last few days. Anyone else experienced this? It goes away for a short time if sprayed with a small amount of isopropanol but returns soon after.. Wondering If I should ask for a replacement (on day 6) or possibly dismantle the unit to see what's causing it. Has anyone dismantled theirs yet, and is it reasonably straightforward? Thanks Jon
Guest dadashi Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 I second that! Has anyone dismantled their SF? If so, can someone post a video of taking an SF apart and putting it back together again? It has no moving parts except for the buttons, so there isn't much to go wrong mechanicaly which can't be fixed.
