screen capture with froyo

I have Stephen's amazing froyo running and I'm trying to take screen grabs for the first time.

I've tried PicMe and ShootMe, and I have the same problem with both. The background is transparent and red seems to be the only color.

I added black to the background for my example... any ideas?

Hi Jason,

This is a known problem and Steve has suggested using another app called quite simply Screenshot which is free and on the Market and that one isn't meant to have the problem.

Hi guys.

Does anyone know if there's a screen capture app that doesn't require rooting?

Thx. :P

Install Android Dev Kit(SDK) on PC.

On Streak, check Settings->Applications->Development->USB Debugging.

Attach Streak to PC via USB.

Run 'ddms' from SDK. Select device in list on upper left, click Device->Screen Capture...

Manipulate/Save screen shot. No Root required!

@Jason May I ask about the Power Control widget in your screenshot, it looks nice and different from SwitchPro, what's the name of it ?

Yes, it works great. However, I have the same issue as the thread starter.

I have tried Drocap2, Screenshot & Shootme. They all produce pictures,

but they all have a dreadful blue'ish tone. Like Jason Burns's, but blue.

Have anyone come across an answer to why this phenomenon occurs?

Any enlightment in this matter, would be greatly appreciated.
