Is there a newbie guide out there anywhere?

It all seems very advanced this, Even to get the Windows drivers working seems like a task in itself, I did root my Desire but this seems even more complicated again and I really don't have a clue where to start, I mean r1,r2,r3,r3 kitchen etc, its gone way over my head. Any advice much appreciated.

Woo Woo Woo Take a step back.... you rooted your desire. It's the same thing. All you have to know is....

Where Clockwork Recovery is to download..

& Which ROM you want....

However windows drivers are a known issue - I Highly recommend doing it from an Ubuntu live CD (detail sin guide)

The Windows driver and instructions from here worked for me - http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...rivers-and-adb/ pretty straight forward and easy to install.
