Guest Ratatoskr Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Hi, I've got the r8 ROM (Free version) on my Desire and I also have the radio ROM v5.11.05. I've flashed these ROM's onto my phone 4 times, in different ways, and every time the HTC_IME mod will not show. Yes, I know about the tapping in a text area to get the choices showing but it does not work with my r8 ROM release. I've used HTC_IME before on a non rooted phone and the tabbing and settings for it work fine then. Any ideas on why it's not working? I'm also wondering what it is that is eating up my internal memory. The internal memory decreases for every app I install even though I have an extended partition for those installs and I think that the "r8-bravo-desire-modacocustomrom-withadditions-a2sd+-signed.zip" should handle this to install all apps to the ext part, right? After installing two apps, I can see that one is showing (through Desires Applications interface) as being installed on the SD card while the other, Skype, does not show as installed on the SD card but the "Move to SD card" field for it is grayed out. So, are both on my ext part? Why don't they both show up as being on the SD card? Thanks for helping !
Guest bpivk Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 (edited) Why don't they both show up as being on the SD card? Because you're getting things wrong here. a2sd+ will install your apps into ext partition and they won't be visible under SD card. Only apps that are actually installed on your SD card's FAT32 partition will be visible there. Your internal storage will still decrease but slowly. Install quick info and you'll be able to see how much space is used on a2sd. I found a better explanation here. Edited October 17, 2010 by bpivk

I do wonder why some install on the FAT32 part and other on the Linux part. Could it be that apps that have not been programmed for ability to be moved to FAT32 while the others are moved to the EXT part? or vice versa? Still hoping someone can enlighten me on the IME mod prob too.
