Guest Bukhar Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Breaking news!!! I have Symbian 9.4 touch installed on this device. The only trouble is I cannot connect it to PC via cable. I think it needs some drivers to be installed on comp. As a way out of the situation I`ve decided to get a card reader for the first time. Tomorrow I plan to post some screenshots and videos. All the installations have been made by ma good friend so I cant explain here the entire proccess of it.

Guest mr.a Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 As for me It works more better than Android. Really cool!!! can you go back to Android later if you are not satisfied with this or is it a permanent change?
Guest TGWS Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 the operating system used by many nokia phones (and also some sony ericson and samsung) Ohh, yeah i knew that haha, i thought he was on about a app or somthing, Why would you want our phones to run symbian, instead of android? :/
Guest Bukhar Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 (edited) can you go back to Android later if you are not satisfied with this or is it a permanent change? I don`t know yet. I really dislike Android and the matter is symbian has been installed by my friend, not me and i do not know the way he did it. But I`m afraid it is permanent change. Though, if it won`t work properly I have to go back to android. But impossibility of return frightens me very much. Edited October 17, 2010 by Bukhar

I mean, I do not know symbian that much, but I seriously doubt it. Edit: And what's up with your avatar? Aren't stupid nazi symbols forbidden in this forum?!? Edited October 17, 2010 by ambrozija

It`s my own opinion. Maybe somebody do not share it. It is not my guilt. Here I`ve just said that it works on android based phones like Huawei U8230.

Guest ambrozija Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Edit: And what's up with your avatar? Aren't stupid nazi symbols forbidden in this forum?!? It carries nothing bad, just avatar, simply small pic i`ve found in my comp and nothing more. I`m not a nazi. If u wish I`ll change it. Symbols usually carry meaning, that's why they're called symbols - they represent something. And bad symbols carry bad meanings. However, I do not want you to take your avatar down just for me.

Guest ambrozija Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Anyway, it is cool to hear that you can even run symbian on our pulses! Although I'm a skeptic about the OS, I'd love to see how this looks and read how it behaves. Cheers!
Guest AntonioPT Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Would you guys stop fighting about whether Symbian is better than Android or no? It's a whole different OS! It's like comparing Windows to Mac... Bukhar, can we see some pictures/videos? :) And I would love to know how did your friend did this! :) IMHO, this is AWESOME! The possibility of changing the operating system and not just Android versions rocks! :)

But at the moment I do not have any image capturing device to take shots. Pls, wait untill tomorrow evening.

Sure running Symbian would be cool, but I want to be able to return to Android.

Edit: I see now: 9.4. What could I do: I have my finger on the trigger. Edited October 17, 2010 by ambrozija
Guest ambrozija Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 Talking about different OS's on Pulse: I have a friend who has HTC Touch and runs Android 2.1 (on top of Windows Mobile) from Virtual Machine. Anyone heard about VM's for android? Maybe we can run Windows Mobile 7 on it? (extremely long shot I know, but just saying).
Guest pandinusimp Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 And i want a evidence. Pictures and maybe a video.
Guest Richard_Arkless Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 (edited) What about meego or maemo? can those run on the huawei u8230 Oh and please post pictures and videos of it in use to show you are telling the truth Oh and what about web os, would that be possible as well? As for whether symbian is worth porting I would say no, its an outdated os, meego, web os, ios and android are the future Edited October 17, 2010 by Richard_Arkless
