Guest gronda_gronda Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Hello all, New to the SF and Android but finding this forum a fantastic resource, thanks. This is a quick one and I have searched the forum with no luck locating an answer. Where within the Android OS can you configure the number of rings or the length of time a call is waiting before they are forwarded to the voicemail service of your carrier? I'm on O2 BTW and know this is not a carrier based setting but has always been set on the actual phone with previous models I have used (none of them android). My phone rings on and on and does not forward to the voicemail for any of my callers. If I switch the phone off then the voicemail kicks in as expected. Thanks in advance, Simon.

Guest ken218 Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 for how long the phone rings before it is diverted to voice mail, the paragraph below is copied from the o2 forum (http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=444), describes how to set it " Yes, just like any other handset you can change the length of time the iPhone rings before diverting to voicemail by entering **61*901*NN# SEND (NN is the number of seconds in increments of 5 and a maximum of 30 seconds)." This code is incorrect. It should be "**61*901*11*NN# SEND" " Although this is said to be for O2, it should work for android phones as well. Because it is a network command (network specific) instead of phone command (phone specific)
Guest gronda_gronda Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Settings > Call settings > GSM/WCDMA call settings > Call forwarding Thanks ken218, I had located those settings but they do not seem to allow me to change the length of time the phone rings before sending the caller to voicemail. I know with my previous phone I could select 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 seconds before the forwarding would kick in. Regards, Simon.

I'll have a play with the suggested info on the O2 forum. Thats something else new learn't today, cheers. Many thanks, Simon.
