Camera Texts not visible

Solved the problem by replacing all dependent files, too.

Does anyone know, what could be the reason, if on a custom rom the camera texts are not visible? Camera is working fine, but no start text and no texts in the settings.

It is not because of the camera cab, because the same cab is working in an other custom rom. I used the last camera fixed cab for both the custom roms where in one camera is working and texts are visible and in the other camera is working but no texts.

Thx.

i used the original samsung camera files as provided in the jc2 cab or the camera fixed cab in the new collection thread for the rom.

I had this only with the camera files from i8000. When I build my first 6.5.3 rom, i used the xip, sys and partially oem from i8000 for my b7610 rom. Then camera does not work and I had this problem with the texts not being displayed. So I switched to an common wm6.5.3 xip/sys package and used the original b7610 oem files. Then camera works.

In which constellation do you have the problems? Which rom and such details?

Another reason for texts not being displayed I found Is the lack of webview sys package. Without this I had no texts in installing cabs or in the popup messages for appointments and no text in some settings windows like connections. But no problem with the camera.

Perhaps you have some more details for me and I'll try to help.

By the way thx for the tip with executor. I now mhave the possibility to get the mui files for my roms for whatever language I want to create a rom with.

I have not solved even with that

ok, thay you have the same problem, that I nhad.

I tried it this ways:

- use i8000 camera files: Camera is working, no text displayed

- use b7610 camera files: texts are displayed but camera makes no pictures

I tried with dependency walker to find out, waht files depends on camera files to change them all, but no luck. At last I said goodbye to the i8000 xip/sys and searched for an xip/sys package of the same build number 23140 on xda and mobileunderground.info.

And found a package and so my wm 6.5.3 rom based on 23240 has its base.

It seems that there are some conflicts between the i8000 oem packages and the b7610 hardware. So I decided to use the b7610 oem instead. If there is something from the i8000 you want to use beyond the camera, you can try to replace the files for that. Some samsung apps from the i8000 do work on the b7610 without problems, but with camera I had no luck.

I've test with oem jc2 stock and wm build 23142, same problem

Some things by porting a new kernel:

Use only MXIPKERNEL and MXIP KERNELTK folders from new kernel build, not LANGDB and NOT WNCELNS

USE .VM, .ROM AND Metadata folder from old sys

Use a kitchen that is able to build new xip.bin from the new kernel folders

I build roms with 23144, 23140, 23569 and 28240 based on jc2 stock rom, and all worked and camera texts are visible. But caused of the problems with i8000 oems I use ONLY b7610 oem or b7620 oem (without some drivers that does not work on b7610)

I've test with oem jc2 stock and wm build 23142, same problem
