Changing Google Password

Ok, so I got word that some spam was sent from my Gmail so I went on my computer and changed the password............this bricked up my phone, I couldn't change the password anywhere?? It would ask me to authenticate by typing in some random letters but never let me reset..........I tried to delete the accound but it said it was tied to too many processes and could not be deleted........I switched back to my old pasword for now. I'm running 2.2 V1 .......... How can I do this?

doing this will reset the account so you can put a new account in.

1. Settings -> Applications ->Manage Applications ->

2. Go into each of the following apps and clear data. Before you exit the app manager you want to make sure each says 0(zero)k storage.

2. Gmail Storage

3. Google Apps

4. Calendar

5. Calendar Storage
