UI/touch interface goes crazy on Orange San Francisco

Until tonight my SF has mostly be fine, there appears to be a weird quirk on my SF. Sometimes when touching the display the touches are registered elsewhere. Then, the UI will start to flip out and act as if i am pressing madly everywhere. Often with the screen transition getting stuck half way. Sometimes user input is not recognized at all.

Turning the screen on and off sometimes clears it. Other times a full reboot is required.

When I first got my phone it did it a few times, but after a few resets while sorting SIM cards out, it started to behave.

Tonight I rooted it and put on the ClockWorkMod and the MoDaCo r3 ROM (all went well there), but now the screen is crazier than ever. Going mad every couple of mins of use.

Here is a little video of it misbehaving. Of course it is not acting up as much here when on video. Typical.

Any advice regarding this before I fight Orange for a replacement?

Restore it to the default Orange firmware, try it then and if it still does it take it back for a replacement.
