Skype on Streak

Hi,

When i had 1.6 on my Streak and older version of Nimbuzz all worked fine. When i did upgrade to lates version of Nimbuzz i could call to another skype user but he cant hear me everytime i call. I can hear him but he cant hear me. I did go back to older version and still the same. Leater on 2.1 came out on streak then i did upgrade and install Nimbuzz again. Still nothing. Now Skype is on market and i did install it but the same no change. I can call and answer call but no one can hear me. Its something with Dell Streak or android and skype? Most of my friends have bloody iphones and meaking jokes about android phones which cant even have simple skype on it. Its pissing me off but i cant do anything about it. Wrote few emails to skype support and no answer from weeks. Any ide whats happening or how make it works?

i got same problem on froyo 2.2 , i also dont know , how , any senior can help , below is my guess

--this skype is not customised for dell streak

--dell streak mic got problem ?

--except this skype , anyone can recommend me other skype similar apps

I just got Skype working on my Streak today running Steve's 2.2 v1 after a Force Close problem had been stopping me from using it. After reading this thread I thought I would do a test call from my Streak to my laptop, I could here myself loud and clear on both laptop and Streak.....

I'm having the same problem with the force closing. Mine closes whenever I try and do something like make a call or add a contact.

I've tried flashing back down to stock 2.1 then updating straight to 2.2 v1 but nothing seems to 2 work.

Anyone have any ideas?

I had the same issue. The problem seems to be the LCD Density being set to 140. I set it back to 160 (Streak Default) and it now works like a dream :P

I can confirm setting the LCD Density back to 140 on 2.1 6XXX has got skype working for the first time

I'm using beta 2.2 and I can confirm that Skype doesn't like the inbuilt mic, but works fine with an external headset... I don't know whether this is still the case with v1.0 though

I can confirm that Froyo 2.2 on mine works with skype, incoming and outgoing is ok. Only 1 problem, video calling is not working because front came is not working in skype.

I didn't think LCD density would have caused the FC issue until I changed it as suggested and it worked!
