Guest Spykeuk Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Hey guys, first off i would like to thank everyone for commenting on this forum, everything has been a great help:) But one question I first rooted this phone using the superboot + mcri r3 image and woo it was great But then i found the clockwork recovery thing and ran this as well over the top of the MCRi would this have any ill effects eg. random reboots and or force close errors? thankyou for your help :)
Guest Gibbo501 Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) I may be wrong but it's Clockwork for the RECOVERY part of the phone and the other ROM for the "operational" (can't think of the right term, sorry!) part? Edited October 19, 2010 by Gibbo501
Guest thomas01155 Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 (edited) You use clockwork recovery to install the ROM. It also lets you do other things such as nandroid backups. Edited October 19, 2010 by thomas01155
Guest Spykeuk Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 What is the difrences between the MCRi and the recovery update.zip in the ROMs then?
Guest DaneelS Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 What is the difrences between the MCRi and the recovery update.zip in the ROMs then? It's two different methods of updating the ROM. MCRi uses a computer based application (fastboot), and the other allows the phone to update itself once clockworkmod or similar is installed,.
Guest Spykeuk Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Soo they dont interact in anyways? soo why has the taskmanger stopped working after installing the clockwork thing?
