Woke up from Recovery nightmare

Just thought I'd post up my experience with recovery today...

You will see from my posts in other topics 'a2sd+ issues' that I was trying to format a new 16gb card and that I eventually managed it and also found out about 'Amon Ra', which has a partition option unlike Clockwork Mod (which has it via Rom Manager only, providing you can get into Rom Manager that is). So, I'm off work today, let's flash a new recovery..using '1 Android Flasher' (on XDA Developers) , note you need S-Off to be able to use this.

Got Amon Ra v5 from XDA, flashed it and booted into Recovery...black screen. Booted into normal fine. But couldn't get recovery even CM back after installing RM. Then I found that v5 is for AMOLED Desire's only, great way to find out I have a SLCD screen :D which surprised me as I had the older HBOOT version when I first rooted.

Eventually found the CM image file via Cyanogen's Wiki (Guide to the Desire), I was struggling for a good while, got the .zip file but that was of no use. Flashed .img using '1 Android Flasher' and all back to square 1. Phew :D

Btw, there is Amon Ra v5.1 which is suitable for Desire SLCD, only with a great bug...it wipes your fat32 partition when doing a Nandroid restore :P Glad I read that one first! (again, on XDA).

I've included the image file for anyone wanting CM and struggling like me to find it. Would have put Amon Ra on but there's an upload limit. Google it or XDA it.

Fun times :P
