Guest ukjeff27 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Last night i rooted, flashed and installed the custom rom on my San Fran and was most impressed. Woke this morning after leaving the phone on overnight charge to find a unresponsive dirty grey screen! no chance of water or trauma damage, aaaaaaarrgh. Will Orange exchange it? never registered the Orange sim, unlocked (a week or so ago) to Giffgaff, phone seems to be working apart from the screen! Apologies for any rambling (its early!) Thanks in advance for any replys/advice.
Guest AndyHibberd Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Call up Orange asap. Prob within the short term returns/damages period. Wouldn't mention the unlock...

Take the battery out for a while and see if it starts up, failing that :- if you installed clockwork, put it into recovery mode and do a wipe/factory reset then try again next, if you did a backup using clockwork, restore it next put it into bootloader mode and re-flash the rom

Guest ukjeff27 Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 Could be in for a bit of a wrangle with this one! Just taken the phone into Carphone Warehouse for advice and they say it looks like water damage! although the phone has been nowhere near water! the screen is grey/green with some (slight) clouding. and just under two weeks old.

Why CPW? Water damage would be shown up by the white circle next to the headphone jack inside the back cover, it turns red or something when it's got wet.

I thought that was a screw cover for warranty voiding, didn't know these phones had water indicators!
Guest Frankish Posted October 20, 2010 Report Posted October 20, 2010 It will most likely have 2 or 3 indicators. One inside the device near the bottom (possibly) sometimes on the battery and then the one already pointed out.
