Source for 2.1 available - ppl still working on a custom ROM?

Noticed today that LG's released the source for their Eclair-implementation over at

Are anyone already experimenting with this? I'll have a go, but the more the merrier I think :P

The Source is 132MB packed. I will look into this. Allthough i wont do any modifications (Or i will buil a 2.1 German ROM due to the fact we cant download it yet :P )

I am no expert but does this mean that a 2.2 ROM can be compiled for GT540 using various hardware driver info available in the source?

I reckon it would be a better match for doing further coding than the 1.6 sources, yes. There's a lot of things in 2.2 that could quite possibly be ported to 2.1 if push comes to shove too.

I'll try and fire my rig up during the weekend and see just what I can find :P

At the very least, just to recompile this source, hopefully get a ROM that can be loaded to GT540, what software do I need to download? I am on Linux (Centos)
